The FieldRoutes integration: your data, finally doing arithmetic

FieldRoutes holds the data. PestMetrics does the division: revenue per hour, one score per tech, cancels priced in dollars, all reconciled to your billing report. Nothing to install.

What syncs

Per branch, on a schedule, without anybody exporting anything:

  • Completed appointments and their tickets, so revenue lands per tech, per day, dated to the day the work happened.
  • Cancellations, dated to when the customer actually left and priced as the annual revenue walking out with them.
  • Subscriptions, totaled into an honest ARR with pending cancels, dormant accounts, and seriously aged balances excluded.
  • Customer balance ages, fetched the hard way, because the easy FieldRoutes endpoint returns zero for every customer and quietly breaks any tool that trusts it.
  • Scheduled versus completed, so the completion rate tells you whether the day you planned actually happened.

Setup is pasting your API key and token once. Most companies have one set of credentials for every office, so each branch just gets its office ID and the sync takes it from there.

How often

  • Minutes after you connect: a first sync, so the dashboard is not an empty room.
  • Every six hours: today and yesterday refresh, picking up new stops as they complete.
  • Nightly: a three-day pass that catches late edits and backdated work.
  • In the background: history gap-fill, oldest missing days first.

All of it runs throttled and budgeted under your daily FieldRoutes API cap, with every call counted live. A backfill that would approach the line stops early and tells you why, instead of burning the cap your other tools need.

The part where it matches to the dollar

Field revenue and book revenue are two different honest numbers, and most reporting tools quietly pick one and hope. PestMetrics keeps both: an appointment-based view that drives revenue per hour and tech coaching, and an invoice-based view that reproduces the FieldRoutes Billing by Service Type report to the dollar.

Then it shows its work. A reconcile screen puts PestMetrics totals next to the platform's own numbers, per branch, per month. When a tool matches your system of record exactly, you stop auditing it and start using it.

What it will not do

It reads. The one exception is an appointment you explicitly approve from the booking worklist, and every one of those writes is logged. It will not touch your customers, your pricing, your schedule, or anything else. Your credentials sit encrypted at rest.

The FieldRoutes API has real traps: easy queries silently cap at 1,000 records, and balance ages come back as zeros unless you fetch full records the hard way. The FieldRoutes analytics guide walks through every one, because a KPI computed on quietly truncated data is confident and wrong.

Common questions

Does it work with PestRoutes or FieldRoutes?

Both, because they are the same platform: PestRoutes was renamed FieldRoutes. If your login URL still says pestroutes.com, it connects exactly the same way.

What do I need to connect?

Your FieldRoutes API key and token, plus the office ID for each branch. Most companies have one set of credentials that covers every office, so you paste once and assign an office ID per branch.

Will it eat my daily API limit?

No. Every call is throttled, counted against a live budget, and capped below your daily limit, which you can set. If a big history backfill would push past the line, it stops early and says so instead of blowing the cap.

Does it change anything in FieldRoutes?

The only write is an appointment you explicitly approve from the booking worklist. Everything else is read-only, and every write is logged. Your API credentials are encrypted at rest.

Do the numbers actually match what FieldRoutes shows?

To the dollar. The books view reproduces the FieldRoutes Billing by Service Type report exactly, and a reconcile screen shows PestMetrics totals next to the platform's own, per branch per month, so you can check instead of trust.
